Deshaun in 10 games so far

10 games, 165-227(59.6%) 1,939 yards, 11 TD, 8 picks, 82.09 passer rating, 2 fumbles lost

Baker in his final 10 games as a Brown

10 games, 179-305(58.7%) 2075 yards, 15 TD, 11 INT, 80.7 passer rating, 3 fumbles lost

In fact the only difference is their rushing

Deshaun - 51 Rushing attempts, 258 yards rushing 2 TDs

Baker - 22 rushing attempts, 75 yards rushing, 0 rushing TDs

My only point is, they both were playing from adversity (rust/injury) and Baker seemingly has come back to above average mediocrity while the jury is still out on Watson. Relax.

If DW was just some guy, he’d be on an incredibly short leash. But because we’re on the hook for so much money, people are trying to excuse his lack of quality performance thus far. We may be stuck with him for a little bit, barring something extreme, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it or look for the silver lining. There isn’t much.

    Where’s the additional context, though?

Didn’t Mayfield play through a torn labrum? I know Watson has an injury, but it’s nowhere near what Mayfield played through. Watson is resting due to a sore shoulder… that’s the issue. If they’re “even” statistically, then give me the guy, on a non fully guaranteed deal, who will actually play through some bumps and bruises.

There’s a huge financial difference here and sorry, rust is no longer an excuse and he played four drives being injured….

He handed the Steelers a W. A game that is starting to look very critical in our division race right now…

And then there is the financial outlook on this…

Watson is making same money per year as Patrick Mahomes… just let that sink in…

Just curious… at what point do you start to panic? At what point do you realize that the Browns may have made a terrible decision?
