There are over 150 champions in the League, and there has been a fair share of OP champions, such as season 3 Kassadin, end of Season 4 Morde, Season 5 Nidalee, etc. And more champions and items getting added, it makes the balancing harder than ever.

However, having said that, there has been some champions that Riot just cannot seem to balance, no matter how many buffs / nerfs and/or remakes. So, the question is, who is the most difficult, or borderline impossible, champion(s) to balance?

Three champions that come into mind

  • Azir
  • Zeri
  • Ryze

Azir seems to either be OP or flat out garbage. Even when it is being a priority pick in competition scene, the champion is among the Champions with the lowest win rates in the ranked scene.

As for Zeri, do you really need any explanation? The champion has either been God tier or garbage tier champion

And as for Ryze, remake after remake after remake and still hasn’t found the right medium.

All three of them are great example of six feet under floor and sky is the limit ceiling, due to having almost all the great qualities you look for in champions, and yet it’s not feasible for most players to fully utilize all those qualities.

Are there any other champions like that, which Riot can never seem to able to balance it “correctly”?

Akali would be my answer and it’s pretty evident with how she is in relation to meta, she is often either gigabusted or the worst champ in the game but i think Zeri is my next answer as well

Evidently its Shyvana. According to Phreak, she’s so hard to balance for high elo they just threw their hands up and said screw it, we can’t do it.
