He must have some hidden warts that us Vikings fans haven’t seen yet. What do we need to look out for?

Because with Kyler coming back he was going to be a backup for the rest of the season. Since he’s in the last year of his contract and had played well enough here to earn a starting job on some team in the league they knew he was not going to be here next year.

They were in a position where they either trade him for something or watch him walk away at the end of the season and get nothing.

    Kyler is the #1

Dobbs is a great backup, but we only had him through this season and we wouldn’t get him at 1.5M again

He started to get in his own head. He has HUGE upsides (athletic, smart, when on he makes amazing reads) but if you watch him after he started to get shook up a bit he started making bad throws, bad reads, etc. Nothing the right personnel can’t protect a lot of, but it wasn’t with us right now.

Monti is reshaping the org… and honestly as good as he is as a backup he was probably #3 with his cost to play time ratio so they let MIN have him while they could get ANYTHING (he only has to last 1/2 the remaining games to mulligan our pick to MIN)

He’s played great the last few weeks but if you look at his 3 previous games with AZ, he was turnover prone (and often those turnovers would bury us 2 scores deep and then Dobbs inaccurate deep ball would rear it’s ugly head) and generally missed guys running in the open field. Just look at your game this week and how many balls were high over the heads of receivers and they had to jump to go get them. Yall’s wideouts and TE have done a good job reeling those passes in so far but it’s also left them open to hard hits and more.

Don’t take this as me being down on Dobbs, he deserved a chance to keep starting even if I’m glad it’s not with us anymore. We traded him because yall offered something for him and with Kyler back, we didnt need him anymore. Also I feel like we traded him as a favor to him so he could get more tape out there as a starter and maybe get a better contract next offseason.

He gave us three games with good to very good performance then he shit the bed for a month straight. Glad he is doing well and with a better team winning may happen more often. Accuracy is probably his biggest flaw.
