In Europe there are much fewer problems. I only encountered problems starting charging on my BMW I3 on very old DC chargers. But of course, without an application from an operator or roaming operator (I use BMW Charging) it is difficult to charge, due to the large number of different operators.
I usually look at Chargeprice to see which charging cards and operators are supported at this station
Pretty well done.
Hopefully we can get rid of the screens, card readers, etc. EU makes this all work pretty well, but it does require more effort.
They get paid on the stations built not stations operational. So while they do try to keep them up and running, the priority is much lower on their list since it isn’t their main economic driver.
Logical answer is there’s not enough money in it for companies to maintain it. My dumb tinfoil hat conspiracy theory is this is on purpose to make people dislike driving EV’s and want to return to gas cars.
because they dont care, are losing money, and again, dont care.
My public network Circuit Électrique works flawlessly in a place where its -35/+35c. You can use an RFID card or simple to use app
Unmanned public chargers is such a bad idea in so many places.
As mentioned in the video, Electrify America is in the middle of replacing its chargers with new models.
Fortunately, the new chargers are leaps and bounds ahead in reliability.
Now, if only Electrify America would speed up the process.
