It’s undeniable that the game is generating money.
However, I’m at the point where I ask myself: After one year, where the fuck does it go?
- For real, we only got like 3 PVE missions with poor replayability
- The events content are meh
- The content of each season is debatable
- The last mythic skin is kind of a joke
- They take forever to update the game (they went live service to deliver updates more often and yet, we still have an udpdate every 2 months)
- And when they update the game, they break it(just like the situation right now with the servers)
I don’t know for you guys, but I honestly doubt when I want to spend money on the game now.
I bought all season pass (except season 7 as I found out the content to be very meh and the best skin was locked in a paywall) and some skins like Mercenary Bap or Camouflage Ana. Plus, they sometimes gave ex-paid skin for free like the Mercy and Ana skins from Prime (that I bought in game at the time).
To the executives’ pockets, who else?
All corporations that make games do so for profit.
Sure, they’ll reinvest some of it, maybe. But more realistically, they pocket that cash boi. Gotta get started on that return of investment early.
What investment ? It’s the same game lmao
Microsoft bought blizzard for billions of dollars, they have to recoup their losses.
This subreddit is full of people with zero life experience trying to explain how game company profits work. Most of those people defend blizzard. Yes, they make heaps of profit and yes they could more than afford to speed up development of new content, but the slow release actually creates false scarcity and prompts more people to spend money on the current microtransactions. So there, that’s why the game is shittier than it could be, because making money is #1, not making a good game.
