Okudah was traded for a 5th, not bad when you look at Ramsey getting traded for a 3rd and Hunter Long. But the fact is that he is playing very well, almost pro bowler type level down int ATL. My opinion is that he needed a fresh start anyway, but it would’ve been nice to see him play like that up here with Sutton on the other side. They are going to pay him probably above average money based off this season and future potential market cost and production, but I root for the guy. What’re your thoughts? Should we have kept him? Btw that 5th rounder was used to get Branch so not hate whatsoever.
Okudah still has health issues, we were lucky to get anything for him imo.
The Slay situation still makes me very sad tho. Our secondary would be so much cleaner with Slay right now.
We freed up about $5mil by moving him, which gave us some headroom for emergency signings and trades (right now we’re sitting on less than 7mil of cap space)
Now that we know Moseley is out for the year and Jacobs is injured, it would be nice to have a guy like Okudah—but you don’t pay a CB 10.5 mil to be your 3rd or 4th guy. Felt like the trade was inevitable after we signed 2 outside CBs and a nickel/safety.
There were also a lot of rumors that he fell out of favor with the coaching staff. Not sure how true that is, but it would not surprise me
He set this franchise back. Glad he is gone
We need to stop looking at performance after they leave as indication of if the trade was bad.
Both swift and okudah we were doing right by the players. They were not in our long term plans and were skilled guys that were not working here.
It’s reasonable to see both of them playing well. That doesn’t mean we should have kept them. It just means that they’re more likely to talk highly of the way they were handled in their departure that will not leave us with a shitty reputation.

I feel the “almost” in that sentence is doing a lot of heavy lifting
Guys, some players just need a fresh start. It wasn’t happening here. Just like sometimes we change jobs and excel because of the environment. Be happy for him and move on, focus on the team we’ve got.
The 5th round trade curse is a thing now
I wanted to keep him bad, thought we could move him to slot and he’d be good there, being a top pick though, the money just wasn’t worth it to gamble on a “position change.” Plus, understandably so, I don’t think he wanted to be here anymore after everything that happened and I honestly don’t blame him
