Heinicke is better at running the offense. Like the things you’d expect from an NFL QB. Leading thr offense…distributing the ball…making adjustments in the huddle and at the line of scrimmage. Ridder should technically be better at this because he has been in the system longer. But it’s actually his main problem and i think what will keel him from being more than a backup. He cannot run an NFL offense. The responsibility seems too much for him to handle and Arthur is already too involved in the offense. He has to be even more with ridder because he cannot run it from the line of scrimmage. Therefore can’t go tempo or things like that. Why you see thjngs like multiple delay of games etc. And the team in general responding better with Heinicke out there.

The only thing ridder does better is run the ball and if Heinicke had ridders size and speed…Heinicke would be better at that too because he has better intuition and overall football iq in genral.

No…other than a few too many fumbles and the bad luck of losing all of them, Ridder has WAAAYYY more upside and was overall just as good considering the pass pro was Alot better in the Vikes game and end of Titans game. Heinicke’s stats are also boosted greatly by blown coverage/tackling on Jonnu 60yd TD and Horrific tackling on Hodge long gain. Without those 2 lucky plays Heinicke is 39/72 386 yds 3TD 1 int 1 fumble in 2.25 games going against 2 of the lousier pass D’s in the league. He had great luck with not throwing some picks on brutal throws too.There is like 0 upside with Heinicke unless Artie turns him loose which will result in alot of picks.

Heinicke is marginally better but doesn’t give us a much better chance to win so I’d rather start the guy who still has room to grow. Similar to where we were last year. Ridders biggest issues are ball control and taking sacks, which you can erase with good coaching (that’s a conversation for another day) so I say get him some reps and see if he can break through. Who knows how he’ll respond to his first benching

Heinicke has better pocket presence and is better at avoiding sacks but Ridder has much better accuracy

No. It’s pretty clear he’s not. And this is already who he is whereas Ridder is still developing so there still is a little bit of a “mystery box” with Ridder in terms of skill

He’s better at not taking sacks but definitely isn’t better at much else id much rather start ridder
