Can we stop acting like Josh is throwing 30 interceptions a year. On an off year he is still right there with the rest of the elite quarterbacks. Turnovers are killing us, but there is a lot more bad luck than “generationally bad turnover machine” going on here.

If some of the TOs are just bad luck, then so are other QBs. Once luck is taken out for everyone, were back to Josh having a lot.

Josh is like 29th in turnover-worthy plays this year. He’s had maybe 3 picks that were genuinely dumb decisions, the rest were either 50/50 balls or sheer bad luck.

With that said, winning covers a multitude of sins. Nobody cares if we’re winning, but when we struggle you can bet the negative will be focused on.

If Skip Bayless chimes in on JA, don’t forget how he was all in with Tim Tebow who still has good things to say about JA!

How do you watch the games and have this as your major beef this week? Allen blows games with boneheaded turnovers on a consistent basis. It’s not some sort of bias in the media against the guy. We saw it with our own eyes on Monday night, against the Patriots and Jets earlier this season and the Vikings last year. The narrative is what it is because it’s true and a subset of homers look for any statistic they can find to make excuses for it. The guy has thrown the same interception on the same play like 4 times this season. And some of his fumbles look like he’s just not paying attention. It’s maddening.

A few things, one is that Lamar Jackson is also a huge turnover machine, particularly 4th quarter turnovers that ruin games and is only recently getting called out on it (just to add another elite comparison). Another thing is I heard someone doing analysis somewhere and they pointed out that dorseys routes were predictable so any team that did their homework had a huge advantage in knowing what our receivers were doing while josh is still trying to follow the playback. So he either has to throw a ball where they already know it’s going (while trying to compensate by making them fastballs), or he has to try to throw to even worse options. So he’s having to go through all his reads, realize the anticipation and then figure out some circus nonsense on every possession. Hypothetically at least. And finally, does anyone have numbers on how many of his ints are bombs that end up acting like punts? I mean we’ve all seen them, but I don’t know how many times and they count the same as any other turnover (and also beg the question of why aren’t his receivers coming up with those balls?).

This year it’s 2 INTs that have been “punt” INTs. I’m confident saying 3, but for a fact 2, of the INTs would also be WR/TE just not catching the damn ball.

The reason he’s criticized right or wrong is that he is elite and so when he throws a ball right at a defender or into double or triple coverage 2-3x in a game that’s an issue. Hopefully next OC can help him overcome his one weakness.

Offensive scheming has something to do with this. The Bills’ offense this year is roughly on the level of a pitcher yelling “FASTBALL” at the hitter every pitch and seeing if his stuff is good enough. DBs know what’s coming and our O needs to play at their best to overcome that.

Babe Ruth of QBs! Most strikeouts/Ints, but also most HRs/TDs
