My son lives there (in the heart) and we visit quite often. It just depends on who you are around. I’ve never once been heckled or disrespected while wearing my bills gear but I also don’t act like a dick. The only thing that is a regular is the blowing of the horn if you don’t accelerate in .3 seconds after the light turns green. I actually get more comments in Cherry Hill across the river. I’m a Celtics fan and went to the game last year where Joel Embiid missed the 3/4 shot as time expired. I was cheering and not a single 76er fan said anything. To be fair again there is cheering respectfully and cheering like a dick.

  • Does anyone remember the 1988 Olympic Games? The 100 meter dash finals? Ben Johnson raced, Carl Lewis, Calvin Smith and future gold medalist Linford Christie. Ben Johnson got off his blocks so fast and won with a 9.79 race time. It obliterated the world record. He won gold and we all thought that record would never be broken. Not 24hrs later Johnson’s gold metal was taken away from him. Turns out he was doping.

This story I think exemplifies what the Sean McDermott era has been in Buffalo. A great start, and a seemingly great coach covered up by doping (Josh Allen, Trea White, Matt Malano, Stephon Diggs etc.).

Some of the things that have helped him are his people skills, care for his players and expecting the best from said players. What he needs to learn are his in game decisions, adjustments to what the other team is doing. Basically the majority of what a head coach is. He also struggles to play the best players over seniority, and consistency in his discipline ie sitting Cook and not Davis Monday night.

Will Sean become a great head coach someday? Maybe, but his time here in Buffalo was done at the end of last year.

  • Sometimes people miss obvious red flags because they want change or like the way things are going. How many of the Germans were concerned when Hitler started to speak his rhetoric. How many of them followed him because in the beginning he talked about getting rid of the evil that plagued their society. He used the bible and the pulpit to declare his message of “purity”. By the time many of the German people realized what was going on it was too late because suddenly most of Europe was under the Nazi regime.

My point is not that Steph is Hitler but that his history shows that when things start to go bad Steph starts to implode.

Several weeks ago I commented that we needed to get rid of Dorsey. Many downvotes and critical comments followed. I’ll bet 99.9% of those people now agree. About a week ago I and others said Sean’s time was done here. Too many poor choices leading to significant loss. Immediately people downvoted and said “we” were nuts. Now this OP has a concern and suddenly you guys don’t remember the behavior of Stephon that’s been displayed thus far. When all is said and done hopefully we fair better than Poland. And plenty of Buffalonians should know about Poland.
