I have never gotten into wearing lip products (or really anything on my lips aside from regular Burt’s bees chapstick). I don’t know why but I just feel so uncomfortable and garish whenever I have any lip stuff on….I think maybe part of it is a texture thing for me? Like, glosses are super sticky and don’t stay on, matte or long lasting lipsticks crack and dry my lips out….I wear a full face everyday but just can’t take the plunge on committing to lip stuff. If I put it on, I wipe it off within 10 minutes.

What do other people consider a daily essential that you just can’t abide? Why do you think that is?

PS do any of you think it’s crazy to imagine full glam minus colored lips? Am I crazy?

Primer - it makes no difference in the way my skin feels or looks or how my foundation wears

Fake lashes - I feel like they overpower the whole look and take away from my eyeshadow or liner

Bronzer - I straight up don’t get the point of bronzer. It looks like orange streaks going down the sides of cheeks and I have never seen it look good on anyone. It doesn’t contour or give structure, nor does it make people look like they have a natural tan, so I just don’t get it

The only time I wear full face foundation is Halloween when I’m a vampire and want to be just a littld more pale. Otherwise, I’ll just spot apply it to blemishes with a small artist brush.

I rarely wear blush, too. I like the natural color of my face.

Lip stick. They just make me paranoid. Like is it on my teeth? Is it wearing away and now it looks stupid? Do you see the wrinkles/cracks in my lips?

    Just give me some gloss.

Mascara. Weirdly enough I find that my eyes look bigger when I don’t wear it? Maybe since I have stick straight straight eye lashes, but I also have a double row of lashes it just makes them look heavy. It also makes my eyes extremely itchy, and I hate removing it so I’m okay not wearing it.

I hear you…my lashes sound similar to yours. I started only applying on upper lash line to experiment and after this week am convinced my eyes look bigger without both lash lines done.

Foundation. Can’t stand it. I’ll use a light powder compact sometimes but I can NOT use any liquid foundation. It just feels so gross and fake.

Also, lashes. Tried them once and within an hour was ripping them off. They’re so heavy and weird. Hate em.

Eyeliner. It just seems so unnecessary on myself, tedious, and if I mess it up, it messes up my whole eye look.

I’m with you on the lip products. For occasions I will make a lipstick work, but generally I really don’t like the feeling, I feel like it doesn’t just stay on my lips and it ends up looking messy.

I’m not the biggest fan of mascara. It sometimes I’d a sensory nightmare and when I just do a natural daily look I curl my lashes and I’m good to go.

Also lashes in general. I don’t know how to apply them (lol) and like my natural lashes (w mascara if it’s a more dramatic look or do actual eye makeup)

Setting spray. I just find that it makes my face sticky and my base more slippery. I have used different variations of MAC Fix+ and some Smashbox setting spray and I didn’t enjoy any of them.

Foundation and powder, I hate being able to see that I have makeup on my skin. I don’t like how it settles into my pores, fine lines, clings to any dry patches or peach fuzz. I think it makes my skin look worse and draws more attention to any imperfections. I can only use a little concealer, cream contour and blush. The rest of my face I just leave bare. Any time I try to do a full glam I end up wiping most of the foundation and powder off when I see how weird it looks up close 😫

    Blush.

I do my contouring but I just don’t like wearing blush.

I hear ya on the lip gloss stuff. I’m particular about which brand of lipstick and always stick to nudes, but lip gloss is rough for me. I still wear it occasionally but am conscious of this thick, sticky glob being on my lips. It’s not something I reapply when I’m out.
