So I’m a Vel’Koz guy, I’m not the best at him but I like his artillery playstyle.
I’ve just watched this video by Azzapp and this honestly just highlights the contempt Riot seems to have for certain subsets of this community.
Like, seriously Riot, is this the standard of communication and feedback we can expect from.the balance team? Complete joke, you.have players with literally 1000s of hours of experience on a champion and you won’t listen to any of their suggestions?
Buffing base damage and trying to gaslight players into believing things are non issues is not the way to go about balancing a character not a way to treat the playerbase.
So i listened to Azzapp, and his feedback wasn’t feedback, it was a wishlist. Lets look at the top few items:
- less damage at rank 1, more damage with additional ranks (mid lane buff, sup nerf)
- lower base damage, more scaling with AP (mid lane buff, sup nerf)
- lower base damage, but some mechanism to add damage (distance traveled, execute, etc)
- landing double Q should be rewarded
Now lets look at the examples of what Phreak was saying for meaningful feedback:
- It’s hard to last hit farm with my champ
- E feels unreliable
- W feels like it’s too delayed for PvP
- it feels like R doesn’t turn fast enough which makes it feel unreliable
Can you see the difference? One is a long wishlist of requested reshapes, the other is a list of things that frustrate you when you’re playing the champion. But the feedback Azzapp was giving was literally “add more bells and whistles into my kit.”
The other problem is that they’re unlikely to do a reshape of him before the new items are released and more members of the team are doing champion work again.
