If the draft started today we’d own these Day 1 and 2 picks: 1.10, 2.37, 2.41, 3.74, 3.100
We’ve built up a really nice amount of draft capital for the upcoming draft, already excited for our 2024 rookies
Hear me out on Bowers:
- Kelce could have never made it big if it weren’t for a scheme that targeted TE alot. EB has that scheme.
- The Kyle Pitts experiment should consider that Atlanta doesn’t scheme for TE enough.
- Hockensen was a top TE in Detroit, gets traded, and then LaPorta is immediately a top TE. It’s because Detroit schemes enough for TE, so does EB.
- TEs generally still take 2-4 years to break out. There will be another top OL in the '25 draft. Our build isn’t just this draft. We could have a sophomore Bowers plus top OL talent again.
- We have plenty cap space to sign OL. Taking Bowers in the first doesn’t necessarily come at the cost of OL talent.
- TE ages well. Kelce is 34. Gronk retired at 33. Andrews is 28 and going strong. Grabbing Bowers with anticipation of a 10-12 year career just locks in consistency in a potential high-scoring position.
I wonder if we need a more stout interior and RT more than LT… could potentially get bowers with that thinking.
