There’s no doubt that what Dobbs has done so far is extremely impressive just in terms of winging it with a team he joined 2 weeks ago. What I can’t figure out is if the best is ahead of us or behind us when it comes to what he can do for the team. His mobility is definitely next level. He looks comfortable in the pocket and it doesn’t seem like he overuses his scrambling abilities; he’s actually making some really sweet throws. That TD run was a thing of beauty. Is this sustainable? Do we have this year’s Nick Foles? Do we have Tom Brady?

Obviously time will tell, but I’m curious what everyone’s first impressions are.

Once teams have more tape on Dobbs they will adjust to his running. It’s up to Dobbs to be able to prove that he can beat them with his arm. Teams will start to spy him more with a LB or Safety and will contain him in the pocket and will force him to throw into coverage. Dobbs needs to prove that he can throw with anticipation, timing, and accuracy to keep defenses honest once they do.

To early to tell we have to see if he improves as JJ comes back and he gets familiar with the offense. He isn’t the long term solution at QB imo but he can be a great backup for the team long term.
