Proposal: Dlo + JHS + 2029 unprotected FRP + 2026 FRP swap for OG Anunoby

Why we do this: OG would be a godsend. He’s an amazing defender that would instantly guard the other team’s best player (imagine the defensive pairing of him and AD), and he’s good enough on offense to be our 3rd option some nights while also spacing the floor. He’s like if Vanderbilt had an offensive game (and was even better on defense)

Why the Raptors do this: Full disclosure, this would only ever happen if the Raptors are bad at the deadline. We all know how Masai operates, he’s not likely to sell unless there’s really no other option. However, if the Raptors are once again mediocre at the trade deadline, considering the scrutiny Masai has faced for not selling players like OG and Siakam already, there would be a lot of pressure on him to sell this year. Especially because both OG and Siakam can walk for nothing this offseason (I mention Siakam because if one of them is being sold, the other probably is as well). So if they Raptors aren’t good by the time the deadline rolls around, OG might hit the market.

In this trade, the Raptors would get a starting-caliber PG in Dlo who’s been averaging 18/6 on a good assist/turnover ratio and high efficiency for a guard both this season and last season. He’s also a great floor spacer. He’d be really good for Scottie’s development, seeing as he can space the floor (we see how important that is in player development with Cade and the Pistons this year) and share playmaking duties with Scottie. They also get an unprotected FRP, a pick swap, and JHS, our 17th pick and someone who could be a good piece in a rebuild.

Our projected starting lineup would be Reaves/Prince/OG/Bron/AD
