What’s something about Overwatch, whether it’s gameplay, lore, or anything surrounding the game, that you think people in the community take way too seriously?

For me, it’s the “no magic” rule. IMO, the entire reason the no magic rule even exists is so that the people designing characters and abilities can do essentially whatever they want and just write it off as “it’s the future, anything is possible”. People look way too much into the logistics of a game where there’s a talking gorilla, a dude who can turn into a shadow, and a time traveling British pilot. You’re not supposed to think about the logistics of a character’s abilities or powers, you’re just supposed to accept that everything you see is high advanced future tech.

The “no magic” is old lore that has very obviously been retconned at this point I don’t see why people keep bringing it up.

My biggest thing is people thinking hero balance only applies to the top top of skill

“I’m top 500 for 18 seasons” like I don’t care bro that doesn’t give you more of an idea of how a character should be balanced, and also if games only balanced to please their top players PvP games would suck ass.

Balance takes into consideration the majority, not the very top
