Despite being less of a fan of Mercedes-Benz (due to their current design language), I’ll probably always own at least an older sports sedan (W204 C250), and convertible (R129 SL) from them.

I can think of a couple for us here in Europe.

First is Honda, proved by my father-in-law’s 2000 Civic EK hatch 1.4L 90hp with almost 300.000km and not a SINGLE major issue with it. It was a one-owner, garage kept car when he bought it, and it shows that when you take care of things, especially Hondas, they are rewarding and are great bang for the buck.

Last but not least, is Nissan, wit a 2000 Nissan Micra 1.3 that’s well taken care of, maintenance is in check is a rewarding feeling. A friend of mine bought a red one for a first car a few months ago and it’s the best car ever for everyone - learners, experienced drivers, weekend drivers, etc. Those things are everywhere here so spare parts are plenty for even if things do break.
