For context I own a Ford F150 5.4L V8 Lariat from 2007 affectionately named “the old man.” This evening I got back from my night classes at college to find my car unlockable. The driver’s door has 3 typical avenues for unlocking.

First and simplest it the key fob, which has until tonight functioned perfectly every time.

The second is entering the code, typically pressing one of the buttons will eliminate the rest, but this time I was given no signs of life.

At this point in the unlocking process I thought somehow my car had run out it’s battery throughout the day, which prompted me to attempt method number 3 so I could pop my hood and call a buddy for a jump.

The final method is of course the physical key, and for some reason entirely beyond me (and from what I can tell beyond the internet) the door does not respond to even that.

I’m now utterly flabbergasted, I thought I must have just walked up on the wrong car. I did not, because the key STILL WORKS TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE TAILGATE.

I’m at a complete loss after much googling and haven’t the money to call a locksmith especially when I’m not sure it would even help.

Please help me.

You have a sliding back window right? Used to have to Jimmy mine open with a putty knife when I locked my keys in my old dakota. You’ll look like a car thief wiggling into that back window though.
