How bad does it have to get for the Packers to consider drafting a QB with the 1st round draft pick?
Mock Drafts have them taking a offensive lineman. And the team has a history of drafting defensive players in the first round.
But with Jordan Love being the most inaccurate QB in the league and most likely picking in the top 10, what are the chances that GB will draft a QB?
Love has to be able to show he can make wow throws and even the smaller throws more consistently regardless if they win

They won’t take a QB in the top 10 unless their pick gets into the top 3. If you look at the consensus draft board, Williams and Maye are the only ones in the top 20. They are almost certainly going to go in the top 3. QBs do often get over drafted, so some of the others might hop into the top 20, but unlikely the top 10, and the Packers tend to draft differently than a lot of other teams anyway. There are 4 QBs ranked between 20 and 40. I think a more likely scenario for the Packers taking a QB in the first round is if there’s a guy they really like in that range and they want to trade up from early in the second to get the 5th year option as an insurance policy knowing they’ve got another year to evaluate Love if they haven’t made up their mind on him at the end of this year.
They’re not going to be bad enough to be in position to take one to supplant Love. Makes sense to get one in the mid rounds, though.
no chance they will this year
Mock drafts don’t mean shit. Love have been playing much better the last couple games, and Gutekunst knows that giving up on Love this quickly would instantly put his job on the hot seat, so he can’t afford to not be all in on Love.
Simply put, there is almost no chance the Packers are considering a 1st round QB next year, unless Love suffers a career altering injury.
