How the fuck is LaVine even worth a single FRP? Maybe from a contending team.
Raptors get: Lavine, Moody
Warriors get: Siakam
Bulls get: CP3, Thad, Warriors FRP
Maybe that’s a lowball for Siakam, or for Lavine, I have no idea, maybe Warriors give 2 firsts. Or Klay instead of CP because he’s looking pretty useless and is also expiring.
I just don’t wanna trade firsts when we have Siakam who is expiring, and doesn’t fit with trajectory of the team.
And I want Moody or Podzoemski. Ppl are gonna say Kuminga but it’s more of the same of what we have on the roster.
It would be quite the bet on this team. It would address the need for shooting and half court creation, so the fit isn’t a problem.
I don’t think many believe it makes us a championship contender this year, but if ownership is willing to go into the tax then the plan would be to bet on Scottie’s continued rise to becoming a star. If Scottie becomes an all-NBA level player, then LaVine-Scottie-OG-Pascal can absolutely compete as a championship-caliber core.
I get that people don’t want to do this though. If Scottie doesn’t turn into a superstar then this team doesn’t have a ceiling to make the finals and it’ll be a tough recovery without 3 of our FRPs.
If the offers for Siakam are worse than the Hawks package from the offseason though, it’s probably a better bet than selling him and banking on a bunch of worse players fitting around Scottie well enough to make a good team.
