I bet this explains all the code commits that gaming leaks thought was some kind of reboot a few weeks ago.
They uploaded a documentary about creating the game 5 hours ago.

Ah I can finally play this game on my Deck
I’ve had HL1 in my library for a solid 10 years and haven’t played it. Nows my chance
i know what game im playing when my oled comes in!
God I just splurged on an SD OLED 512Gb (want to experience that true oled and probably will upgrade to a 2Tb in the future). This is going to be a long 10 days!!
I played HL 20 years ago and I’ve been a DM player and been playing CS for the past 20 years. This is trully going to be a trip down memory lane. It defined parts of my life tbh…
Any time tips for a new SD are always welcome!
Muh clicky audio.
Fuck yeah! This game is like chicken noodle soup in video game form. About damn time Valve lol
I always though it was funny that not all of Valve’s own games are deck verified (though I do realize there are some serious technical challenges involved with such old games) Super happy to see this update, and at $0.99 (or maybe free?) now seems like a great time to revisit this classic!
Wow, perfect timing for me. I had started playing it earlier this week just because I was bored. I think I was able to truly appreciate this update since it landed halfway through my playthrough. I was already super impressed with how well the gameplay stood up after all these years, but now with official SD support and all the graphical enhancements I’m honestly blown away. Definitely a must-have deck title
The first time I ran this on my SD the movement didn’t work. Not with the SD left stick, neither with a dualsense.
I checked if I had loaded the official controller setup. I did.
Then I ran it again. And it worked suddenly. I’m really sure I didn’t change anything.
