Yes Ana counters a lot of tanks but it’s not because she looks in your direction and says by the power of Ra blam go to sleep and purple you die. Tank deaths are a result of wasted cooldowns and positioning, if you played smart and waited or setup correctly you’d live. I play Ana 90% of the time but when I don’t I play JQ if I know they have any utility that can cancel any part of my kit, suzu, purple, sleep, zarya bubble, javelin, etc, I hold shout p, axe or knife until I see the window open.
You know what opens up the windows for action, it’s burning enemy cooldowns and forcing or waiting for a mistake. As a tank If your teammates burn enemy counter resources you now have a window. It’s a team game that 90% of think that we are the main character. It’s always Ana or supports counters x y or z but never how can we overcome it. You act like every Ana is guarded by OWL brigs and their team peels for them on top of her god tier positioning. As tank it sucks period, the askhon eSports channel covers tanking as video game concept and rightly highlights the dirty work the tank does to gather attention and soak damage but also that in team games you are 1 piece of the pie.
Ana is infuriating because she directly punishes mistakes, while other support utility saves you from them. The youroverwatch channel said it best that we should expect the playerbase to learn to get better at the game not expect the devs to cater to our inadequacies. Why aren’t we saying the failure of dps players to kill Ana or pressure her cooldowns out or force her teammates into making mistakes on top of their habitable ones. Why aren’t we criticizing other supports in find solutions and being creative.
If you remembered OW1 you would know your nade had to be used for yourself sometimes and that two tanks protected themselves much better against it.
Just because of changes in OW2 (passive, 1 tank) you can hit nade now easily twice as often. It’s just not at the same level any more and justifies being adjusted.
