So I never grew up playing video games. I have the switch and my husband has an Xbox but that doesn’t really matter. I’ve been seeing a lot of games advertised on steam that look like lots of fun to play. I don’t have a PC so that’s why I haven’t started. I just learned about the steam deck and have a few questions…

Can I play all the games on the steam website on the steam deck? It connects to the TV for multiplayer right? Someone told me that I have to pay a monthly subscription to use steam but I don’t think that’s correct right? What’s the difference between OLED and DECKHD? Any tips/game recommendations appreciated

I know absolutely nothing about steam and I know nothing about other video games besides Mario games

Before getting any game for it, or the Steam Deck for that matter, I suggest going on YouTube and see how it runs on Steam Deck.

It’s a great way to find out what to expect and they will usually show what settings they use and how to set them should that be necessary in the first place.

You can play loads of multiplayer games and It connects to the TV just fine with just a cable. For the best experience it’s worth getting a dock.

Steam does not have any subscription at all.

If you are very new to gaming in general and PC gaming especially, i suggest getting the OLED model for the best experience. It’s the “refined” version where Valve has improved upon many aspects people have been complaining about.
