Test drove today (only one in Aus I think). Was interested in the car. Coming from a 2020 leaf. Would’ve been a nice upgrade but I think the Aus market for Renault is very much an afterthought, they will not be selling many here :( Many negatives to be aware about:

  • $69,690 drive away price 😐
  • No Android Automotive OS
  • No google maps or any navigation built in
  • App doesn’t work yet
  • Communication module is only for 3g, (about to be disconnected in Aus from end December 2023), dealer can’t guarantee it will function after that or will be upgraded.
  • Wireless android auto was tricky to setup. car software is pretty bad.
  • No one-pedal-driving option
  • No power seats
  • Servicing is predicted to be $400 every 12 months.
  • Rear boot space feels way smaller and less functional than the leaf. The false floor/compartments make it less usable.
  • Rear passenger space very cramped. Ok for small adults, but no taller than 180cm. also foot space is very poor.
  • No auto rear hatch.

Positives.

  • Drives nice (leaf is better/smoother because of one-pedal-driving though)
  • Efficient ~13kw/100km. Summer.
  • Looks nice

I think my Volvo ex30 order will be locked in instead.

Volvo EX30 has great first reviews. seems like a solid choice. is the BYD Seal available in Aus yet? that would be a roomier option.
