Is there alternator brush lifespan defference between automatic and manual shift cars?

The brushes of my first two automatic cars worn out before they reach 100k miles but after I decided to drive manual transmissions, all my manual cars ran over 200k miles without any issues in alternators.

Will it be just a result of technological advance?

or more frequent occassions of abrupt high rpm from guick downs in automatic cars wear brush out more?
