It’s hard to say since SteamOS 3 is only available in the Steam Deck. If it were made available for other PCs, we could know about its minimum specs. In the meantime you can try another linux distro. If you’ve never tried Linux before, I recommend Ubuntu, if you have previous experience and want to try a “gaming” distro, I recommend Nobara.
Typically Manjaro is recommended as closest experience to steamOS as it is also a variant of arch. Why Nobara? It’s a Fedora variant… does it just work better for gaming/proton/etc?
