Most of draft talk over the next 6 months is obviously going to center around Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. Rightfully so, as both of them have pretty much solidified themselves as Qb1 and Qb1a. How would you guys feel if the following scenario played out if the Giants end up with the #1 or #2 overall pick?

It’s likely that the #3 overall pick is going to go to a team that needs a quarterback. (NE, LAR, ATL, and possibly CHI are all right there).

What if the Giants traded back from 1 or 2 to the #3 pick, drafted Marvin Harrison Jr, and then used some of the draft capital they acquired from the trade (plus their additional 2 from the Leo Trade) to move back in to the first round to draft Bo Nix, Michael Penix Jr, Jayden Daniel’s, or whoever Schoen has as his #3 guy.

So you’d either end up with Caleb/Drake OR MHJ + QB3 in this scenario.

I am definitely in the camp of: if you have a top pick and there’s a QB you deem “franchise” worthy you don’t trade back. That being said, Schoen is obviously doing his due diligence on all of the top QBs this year, so if he had 3 or 4 QBs he grades out as “franchise,” would you be upset at this outcome?

If the Giants front office prefers one QB over the others then they will make sure to get that QB. If Giant’s pick #2 but Caleb Williams is their favorite and is going #1 then Giants will attempt to trade up for Williams before settling on their second favorite QB.

If Giants front office straight up prefers an individual QB later in the draft over Williams/Maye then they will bombard Giants media with that opinion ala Giants sources saying Giants were going to take Daniel Jones at #6.

The problem with this is that Giant’s likely be able to trade down much if at all and the end result is they would take the 3rd best QB at #3.
