Winged liner has been a staple for me since 12 years old, I’m 25 now and feel it just doesn’t look good anymore…

What’s something you outgrew that you miss?

I’m starting to outgrow it. I used to be really into heavier eyeliner with longer wings and a more dramatic inner corner, but as I’ve gotten older I found I’ve preferred to just accentuate my natural features with darker makeup rather than trying to “change” the appearance of my face

Yeah. Really dramatic eyeshadow looks. Bright colors, dark colors, all the colors. They used to be part of my everyday routine, and I think I was kinda good at it? But I lost my pizazz for it after some time. It just feels like too much when I do attempt it now, unless it’s for going out or something. I prefer either a more toned down smokey eye, or even just a small wing with minimal other products on my eyes. I just found myself gravitating towards doing less, after years of doing the full beat every day.

At 54 I love winged eyeliner but my (always) somewhat hooded eyes are now more hooded and they fold over on the sides so winged eyeliner no longer works. At all. Worst thing is I was really good at getting a nice clean line.

I personally have not grown out of winged eyeliner but I feel like the rest of society has and I feel so outdated when I wear it now. But I still love it.

Something I have outgrown is highlight. Sometimes I still put a little on the tip of my nose but very rarely.
