This was a nail biter tonight. Thunder pulled off the win in OT. Glad to see the Thunder get the W.
Individually:
-
There is SGA, Chet, JDub and they are in a tier consistently above everyone else. All three player well tonight.
-
Chet had the best game of his young career tonight. Who would have thought a rookie playing is 13th game would literally take over lie he did tonight? I know it’s partly due to his height but this is a very different team with Chet on the floor. Does Chet remind anyone of Prime Kevin McHale?
-
SGA playing well. He’s pressing a little bit at times (ala Russell Westbrook) but most of the time he does a pretty good job of letting the game come to him. He’s Russell Westbrook with better decision making skills.
-
JDUB doing a great job of slowly asserting himself when it’s necessary. You can tell he is feeling his way around in terms of team chemistry.
-
The ball didn’t move around as well tonight as it did in the prior game against the Warriors.
-
Dort played great defense but it was a rough shooting night for him. But he didn’t play hero ball. Good job of letting his teammates score the points while he played defense tonight.
-
The game didn’t come to Cason Wallace tonight. Has to be a bit frustrating for the rookie.
-
Joe wasn’t lightning in a bottle tonight but man, the kid is seriously becoming a complete player. He deserves every minute he gets.
-
JWILL is looking a bit choppy. He needs a few more minutes to stay in the game flow. He was a non factor tonight, but we will need him to step up against larger foes.
-
Kenrich didn’t have a very good game offensively either. Was a bit of a non factor.
-
Giddey. He is in a serious slump. He’s a turnstile defensively. When he is in the game you can count on the other team making a run. Offensively, he’s awkward. Slow. Plodding. With a loose handle. He is seriously regressing. There is a reason he played a WHOPPING zero minutes in OT. His is a good passer and that’s literally about all he does well.
I don’t want to hear any excuses about Giddey being young. He has two full NBA seasons and Holmgren and Casin are seriously outplaying Giddey as rookies in less than 15 games total.
-
Glad to see coach D cutting Giddey’s crunch time minutes. But he needs to bench Giddey to start the game. Maybe that will motivate him.
-
Chet did a really nice job of playing effectively with two early fouls on him.
Tf is the shit. Against the warriors in this back to back giddey shot 50% from the field and 80% from 3 in like 24 minutes of playing time. He’s definitely playing better. He hit some very timely shots last night to help go on the run and he had some nice rebounds during it. He’s not a world beater, but he’s far from awful and he does a great job of setting up guys like chet…so they can get in a rhythm, ya know…to make big shots…like the one going to OT. Let’s just appreciate our entire team and the fact that we’re sitting at 9-4 rn
Why do you write using triple spaces?
It’s worth mentioning that the last few games Giddey’s defense has made improvements. The timing of his rotations for help defense under the basket has been great. He has also had active hands and been racking up steals and blocks without fouling. The last two games his outside shot has been pure, too. I hope he can sustain these efforts throughout the season. We are more dangerous as a team when his game is more multidimensional.
If you notice, occasionally Giddey will actually “shoot” the ball rather than shot putting it toward the basket. That’s usually why happens when he makes a “three”. It doesn’t happen very often.
It’s amazing that Giddey has started for two full years and hasn’t fixed his shot yet.
People need to slander Giddey like they need air as if their armchair criticisms need to level set the excitement they have. It’s ridiculous, boring and doesn’t offer conversation
Ban this guy
