My initial thoughts are to rehab Giddey’s value and flip him if at all possible. On the other hand he sucks pretty badly right now and seems to be getting WORSE instead of better.

What if this IS selling high. He’s sinking like a rock right now.

Some guys here will make excuses for everything that goes wrong. You can support the team and the coach and still admit that they had a bad run.

I’ve been super tough on Dort last year. I don’t think the lack of scoring is his fault. He’s playing pretty well overall. The entire team lacks open looks with Giddey on the floor. Giddey’s defender can literally go smoke a cigarette while Giddey is in and it doesn’t hurt the defense. They get to ignore Giddey and pack it in and shade other Thunder players.

JWill is playing very differently this year than last year. He seems to have lost part of his edge and is playing much more tentative.

It’s going to get worse as Coach D pisses off more games sticking with Giddey. Watch and see. It’s coming. We are down the last two winnable games due to coaching. We won’t win many of the next 15 or so, if Coach D plans to continue to stubbornly stick with the same formula.

It’s a discussion forum. That’s what people are here to do, discuss things. Man it’s amazing how so many people can’t stand any sort of team discussion that involves any negative comments. Not everything is rainbows and unicorns.

Thunder fans should discuss what they want to discuss. That’s why we are all here. Attempting to eliminate any negative commentary is ridiculous.

He could play pee wee Herman and the three stooges together and it wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out you won’t win playing that rotation. Some of Coach D’s rotations are not as bad as the three stooges, but they aren’t that far off.

Coach D is doing a lot of things right but it’s clear that the team gets very frustrated with Giddey on the floor d watching a lead evaporate due to Giddey’s poor play.

Coach D pissed off the game at the start of the 3rd quarter by playing SGA and Giddey together for a long stretch. Giddey stunk it up as usual. TWolves made a run. Thunder tightened up due to the tight game. Players play better with a lead.

SGA ISO plays didn’t help at all this game.

This loss is on Coach D.

In my opinion Bertans has no business on the floor, unless Coach D has some belief that he can hit a game winning three at the buzzer or something like that. (Last possession sort of situation).

But in reality wouldn’t you have much more confidence that Chet, Cason, Joe or JDub would hit that shot over Bertans?

He’s objectively bad. Give his minutes to anyone else on the roster. Literally anyone. He has no future with the Thunder.

I didn’t like the Dort contract at the time, as I believed it was a significant overpay. I was pretty low on Dort last year, and was pretty vocal about it.

I don’t know if Dort is playing up to the level of his contract yet, but at least Dort is playing much better this year as a whole.

You are correct that many of the posters on this sub can’t stand to hear any legitimate criticism and say absurdly hateful things to you if you level criticism at any player’s play. It’s really quite childish and immature. Lol.

It’s sort of like the player they like is suddenly good if they can stop anyone from talking about it. Lol.

I agree. That’s why I think the narrative that we are still developmental is just an excuse for some jacked up rotations and poor play by a few players.

Lindy is clearly the outlier, at least in a small sample size

Ok. I’ll bite. How is Lindy’s home town connection valuable to the Thunder?

The team can obviously take that approach. But on the other hand if that happens you basically get zero for Giddey’s departure. If the team does not believe that Giddey is a long term piece the smart play is to trade him at the trade deadline or before year 4.
