Am I the only one who thinks that this year was extremely bad? I mean, if you look at the comparison of the last few years, it was completely shit this time. What do you think?
Last year was a bit mid also but still okay
All the budget went to newheans dude. The rest had to suffer for it.

I think there are two main problems with recent opening ceremonies.
First, not sure if it’s really technlogical restriction with AR, but those 3D models without proper shading and stuff just don’t work in this darker lighting inside a closed stadium. Just compare Heartsteel and KDA form More with Dragon and KDA from Popstars. In normal daylight they don’t stand out that much, but when everything around them is dark with many different colored light effects and stuff, it looks really off.
Second, I think they are trying too much lately. When they started with this AR thing, It was used to echance just one small part of the whole show. Whole Dragon thing lasted for what, maybe 20 seconds overall? First KDA was mostly just dancing here and there with one bigger moment for each and some focus on the final moments of the song. But today it was like all this graphic show was the main part and they tried to do so many “cool” things with it, that it ended up being super cheesy. Like, I don’t know, instead of the whole show focusing on random guy vs Mordekaiser, just give us one big moment where Morde disrupts the show for a moment and Leona shows up to defeat him, then go back to real people performance. Sometimes less is more.
It was good, definitely not the best. The biggest qualm is they have NewJeans yet only film half the song with them.
You dont call up the hottest trend in the world and showcase them 2 out of 4 mins of their song, mate. SMH
