i have been trying to get back into reading for a while, i used to do it nonstop in middle/high school but fell off after i graduated. i picked up Thursday Murder Club randomly at a bookstore a few weeks ago and finally sat to read it this week and it’s really doing it for me right now. i don’t have much time to read anymore with college and work but i think this will be the first book i have finished since i graduated high school 😅 so, i’m curious. what books randomly re-sparked your love for reading?

It was a crime novel series from a popular author in my country called Jo Claes. I hadn’t read in ages but was suddenly drawn to the description of one of his books and because the cover had a statue on it that was at my old university. The book had gotten a Hercule Poirot prize and so it had to be good, I figured. I read that book in one sitting, it gave me cold sweat. So I devoured all his novels. Then I went on to buy more books figuring a bookshelf looks nice. I only buy 4 star+ books and only if I really like the plot, otherwise I get demotivated again to read.

For me, it was the Hunger Games when I was in high school! I loved reading as a kid and read pretty avidly, and then I stopped for a little while (not sure why) I remember being gifted THG trilogy box set because the books and movies were getting so popular at the time, and from then on I couldn’t stop reading anything I could get my hands on!

I’m currently working on getting back into it, but recently it was A Study In Emerald, I had to read it for a class and I enjoyed it so much and wanted to really get back to reading
