It’s a Belgian crime thriller/sci fi called The Methusalem Myth by Jo Claes and it gave me so many goosebumps that I read all day and night. I developed a kidney stones from not drinking in the sun while reading and at night I let too many mosquitos in my room because I forget where I was. I was pretty scared too cause I was alone at home. There is no English translation though I believe
Usually an hour. If I’m alone I can read in bed til I fall asleep, so many hours. Also, if the books reads smoothly, I can keep going longer. The more tension in the book, the more I want to devour it.
Anything Ellie Dean. War trauma on every page.
Midnight Library of course by Matt Haig, a tear jerker with a very active ending.
Now I am reading The Girl, The Cat and The Forest, another war tear jerker. It can be read in a day it is so good.
I just started my first Marie Lacrosse cause the covers are stunning and I love period war romance. It is called Storm over the Fields and it is almost 600 pages but it reads so smooth
Just polished off the Hunchback of the Notre Dame, again a 600 page brick but so fun to read. Takes a bit getting into though, it’s archaic and cynical.
It was a crime novel series from a popular author in my country called Jo Claes. I hadn’t read in ages but was suddenly drawn to the description of one of his books and because the cover had a statue on it that was at my old university. The book had gotten a Hercule Poirot prize and so it had to be good, I figured. I read that book in one sitting, it gave me cold sweat. So I devoured all his novels. Then I went on to buy more books figuring a bookshelf looks nice. I only buy 4 star+ books and only if I really like the plot, otherwise I get demotivated again to read.
Yes and so now I only buy books with over 4,5 star rating ánd that has a cover, story, design that I like. A book needs to pass a lot of vibes before I buy and read it now. And even then I can still be disappointed.
7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Boring skank pick me.
MAC,Charlotte Tilbury, Tom Ford, NARS, Lancome, Sisley, Dior.
The Hunchback, it is so long and archaic, but it gets better. Dont give up. The last quarter made me cry multiple times.
