I’m a Chiefs fan, but I came to love Trevor last season before even knowing how much Nick Wright was a fan and have been rooting for him and the whole team in general since then (he was great in the divisional game between our teams). The Jaguars seem like a really solid roster on all counts, with one of the best edge rushers AND receivers in the league… but only one of those has been consistently prominent and productive this season, and that’s Josh Allen, not Calvin Ridley. Meanwhile, as great as Trevor has looked, a lot of his passes have been going to other guys whom he had chemistry with last season, but he’s not gotten a lot of passing TDs compared to what we’d expect based on how well he gets the ball down the field. Hell, C.J. Stroud doesn’t have that kind of receiving talent, and yet he has 9 passing TDs to Trevor’s 8. What’s stood out to me more is just how much Travis Etienne has been tearing it up this year, especially when it comes to scoring TDs.

I suppose if it works, it works. Jags have a good offense driven by some awesome talent and a REALLY good defense. But Ridley having a bigger role in the Saints game perhaps could’ve helped keep the offense alive in the second half, and yet he was getting covered all day. Are Jags fans concerned about Ridley the player, or more about Press Taylor not scheming better plays for him to get open? That highlight catch by Ridley against the Bills was something I wanted to see more of, but it’s been rather quiet otherwise.

    1. etn has been good, so use him

    2. re ridley specifically, I think a bit part has been zay Jones being out 4/7 games. With Jones out defenses can double on ridley making him a less desirable target in the moment, which in turn feeds targets to kirk who plays shorter routes. I suspect whenever Jones comes back and defenders need to worry about him, ridley should do better and get more of those big plays.

    3. getting out to a fast start means we’re ahead means we need to air it out less as we can eat up the clock on runs
