Let me clarify. I prefer seeing Brock take sacks as opposed to trying to fling the ball out in desperation into the hands of the opposing team. I’d much rather see him eat the loss and live to play another down. Now, if we can get him to recognize the open check-down a bit sooner, he won’t have to take as many sacks.
I was happy Brock didn’t get another intentional grounding call. Shanahan even mentioned it in the post game, makes me think it was something they had talked about and it shows that Brock is listening and learning. I think that’s one of the best things about the kid: his willingness to listen and put what he’s being taught into practice.
Darryl Johnston was raving about how Brock is “deceptively mobile”. He is. But Brock never shows it. I love when he runs because it lets the defense know! Also love how he doesn’t take the hits on scrambles. But man do I just hate how he dives head first.
