Call me a spoiled Saints fan, but I no longer hope for the season to end squeaking out a playoff berth. The Brees era has shown me what should be the floor of my expectations going forward.

That being said, is no secret that Allen/Carmichael coaching tandem will not get a Saints team to the pinnacle of success we had with the prior coach. After seeing the Lions comeback today, my hope is that we take shot at their Offensive Coordinator. His clock management at the end of that game was A-1.

It would have been great to pair him with a high draft pick to get one of the college QBs coming out, but unfortunately the Saints are just good enough to be the literal definition of mediocrity. Am I wishing upon a star here??
