All I know is that we’re trading for Aldama at some point after this game lol
Did Memphis just play us like Miami does (minus Bams illegal screens). They just started hackling us and the refs wouldn’t call, JJJ had like 12 fouls no?
Ah the " they can’t foul out all of us " strategy
JJJ is always in foul trouble lol
Out hustled us too give them credit for that. Also game plan wise just forced us to get out mathed, our shot profile was way off from usual with way less threes. Add that in with all the extra possessions Memphis got by hustling for rebounds and refs calling turnovers, it’s quite crazy we still won this game.
Brown + Jrue had bad shooting nights and Tatum seemed disinterested at times, but KP and Hauser saved the day.
I also felt like Joe was experimenting with lineups, pretty sure he had White + bench unit at the end of the 3rd and played the rest of the starters together at the start of the 4th. Idk if the lineups were effective. However, it did accomplish one thing: the Jays minutes were kept low, comparatively for them, despite the close game.
I wonder if Brown’s injury impacted him at all this game. He still ahd 4 STOCKS last night though
KP is absurdly efficient and I love it.
I think Jaylen Brown is playing the most consistent defense of his career this year.
I wanted to focus on Jaylen and see any signs of improvement or change in his game but was just constantly distracted by Tatum. What an absolute garbage performance from him. Both he and Jaylen played defense like they were in the all star game.
It’s not funny anymore to just dribble for 15 seconds and take a bad shot. That’s great for the gym and 1on1 but our entire team wants to play fast and then these two clowns just dribble forever.
All of this season save for last games Tatum was the one trying to play much faster and keep the ball movement going while Jaylen killed the offense. Last two games Jaylen is looking to attack immediately while Tatum sucks the life out of everybody like a fucking dementor.
I wrote elsewhere these aren’t habits, this is who these two are and it’s insufferable. A 40 year old Al Horford and 37 year old Jrue Holiday play hard every moment they’re on the floor while our two players, the highest paid players in the league, take breaks from playing defense and run isos. Ugly.
edit: 4 points in the final 4 minutes of a close game, didn’t run a single set, a single play, nothing. Tatum got the final dunk because White did everything. Against the Raptors, same thing - Horford and White bailed them out. Someone really needs to explain it to both Tatum and Brown that the are behaving like irresponsible children and that this is THEIR TEAM, they don’t need to prove anything to anybody. Get the win no matter the points. Trust your teammates, enable them, play with them. 600 million combined and they need to be enabled.
Both he and Jaylen played defense like they were in the all star game.
Eh go re-watch the game please. Jaylen had 2 steals, 2 blocks, defended the Memphis players for 61 possessions and allowed 36% of their FG (4/11) with only 1 shooting foul (2FTA for JJJ).

Pretty big error for Jrue, he is 33. Btw, as of right now, Jaylen is 4th in this current season salary behind Jrue, Porzingis and Jayson. I’m only covering Jaylen’s because Jayson’s problems were major tournovers with his offensive fouls.
But please go ahead and tell me which one of these shots are isos that he didn’t get massively fouled. His isos were driving to the basket, he was getting crushed and no call was being made. From his 6 missed three pointers there is one ill-advised one at 8:53 on the 3rd. The rest are pretty open threes generated by drive and kick (one from JT) and two generated by PnR action with KP leaving him pretty open.
Please, if you’re going to say our guys are insufferable bring the prof not only assumptions from someone who didn’t really pay attention.

Come on now, see the tape. Great ball movement. Decently open PnR 3P, though I’d prefer someone else taking the shot. Great ball movement to get KP open. Great PnR, great cut, bad pass. Great post-up by one of the most efficient post-up players in the league with great cutting
Are you really complaining about a very nicely executed ball-movement in the clutch?
