Obviously we’re all happy they finally made it, that goes without saying. But somehow when they lifted the trophy, I wasn’t as happy as I would’ve imagined, probably because this edition of Worlds felt lackluster. Or maybe just the finals, 3 stomps in a row really felt bittersweet.

What’s annoying is that they had so many epic final series where they fell short, against RNG at MSI or DRX at Worlds, but the one they end up winning feels like a showmatch against masters.

I feel like even the players didn’t react as strongly as DRX last year or EDG before that, I assume for the same reason.

What do you think?

T1 plays a style that looks exactly like this. When they win, they win hard. If they don’t win hard, it’s a slow painful death of getting outscaled barring a miracle play. So you’re looking at EZ clap or heartbreaking losses.

T1 just rolled LPL’s Top 4 teams to win it all, and you feel bittersweet about T1’s worlds run? These fucking bandwagon fans are something else.

I feel like I have been waiting 7 years and was ecstatic. T1 beat the toughest competition in league of legends history to get the trophy.

I wasn’t as connected to this years world because the time made it impossible to watch any of it live.

I don’t know why that would change how I felt like you are saying though?

While I agree that the climb peaked vs JDG, I think this time as a fan I cared more about them finally winning something after all the runner-ups and even 3rd place finishes.

Their career mental was on the line lmao even Guma admitted it.

Even against WBG, until we had the 3-0 confirmed did I finally unclench lmao

I really have to thank the Asian Games coming in right before Worlds even though I hated it at first lol

Not just the fans, I think even the players seem a bit melancholic. I’m probably projecting but it feels underwhelming to finally get something that could have been yours a year ago, rather than reach a new peak. Its a complex situation where ZOFGK in another universe could have been back to back champions in several tournaments.

And they might also still be thinking over their contracts which definitely makes the victory quite bittersweet to fans…
