Wes Welker got done dirty everyway he could! I watch a lot pf Patriots games even though I’m not a fan just because greatness is entertaining and I still feel bad for Wes Welker. You guys kept trying to give him 1 year deals or franchise tags instead of a real deal. Then he goes to Denver and it looks like Peyton Manning gets him repeatedly injured on purpose (treats his health like its less important than a 7 yard 1st down if not on purpose). And the final insult is acting like Edelman was a better slot receiver than Welker. Thats completely wrong. Thats all recency bias and superbowl bias. Wes Welker at least deserves to be remembered accurately. He was possibly the greatest slot receiver of all time.

The Pats gave him a five-year, $18M deal, which was a hell of a lot more than Miami was offering.

They also were willing to offer him two years at $14-16M fully guaranteed after the 2011 season.

This is a weird post but I will say, Welker at his peak was absolutely filthy and was the Patriots best slot receiver ever. And I absolutely loved Troy Brown and Edelman. I think fans, especially younger ones, are too quick to forget what he did for the franchise.

Wes had a great playing career (minus his superbowl drop). Has been a NFL coach since retiring as a player. Has a net worth of approx $20M. There are definitely other people more deserving for you to feel bad for.
