We all hate Mondays. Let’s talk.
I remember there was a brief moment where I thought Dave Canales was a massive improvement on Leftwich. Emphasis on “brief.”
Man I was so hyped for Canales thinking we’d get a young gun who wants to prove himself to be the next great offensive mind. Instead we are playing basic boring vanilla football that’s honeslty not much better than what Leftwich was drawing up.
At this point I’ve started wondering if Bowles is handcuffing him to this style of offense, but it’s more likely that Bowles picked him because he’d run this type of offense.
I’m sad. Feels like this team could have 3 more wins than they do right now.
I said before the game if we can keep it competitive that already will fill me woth confidence.
And so, yes. I‘m encouraged by sunday.
THAT SAID.
Sunday against the Colts is must win for me. No excuses. Same as I didn‘t expect a 49ers win I do expect a win here. I don‘t care that they have a better record. I watched them. If we don‘t we don‘t deserve to be in the playoffs in the first place.
Honestly the next 4 are must wins in my eyes if we actually want to win the division. Really we need to win 5/7 of the remaining games to have a legit shot.
If we win the next 3 a few other games go our way we could be back in first and have a positive record again. IF we play like we did Sunday and clean up the mistakes it’s certainly possible, but that’s a big IF with Bowles.
It’s the second time this season Dean has left a game after allowing a huge touchdown. Noah Brown torched him on a touchdown two weeks ago in Houston, and Dean promptly left the game with a concussion. He’s either embarrassed or going full throttle haphazardly and getting hurt on these plays.
Wonder what Sherman will say about this performance. He played with these guys and knows they can be better but already called him out. Said he got paid so now go make a play, and he’s been even worse.
If David is out 4-6 weeks like someone mentioned is possible we are in for a world of hurt on defense.
