Thought this was interesting to look over.

The Lions on the year have a net -99 yards from penalties this year. Tied for 7th lowest net in the NFL.

We have 55 penalties called against us (8th lowest in the league) for 527 yards. Showing solid discipline there.

Our opponents however have been called for the 3rd least amount of penalties in the league at 49 penalties for 428 yards. Seems some of the frustration we feel is valid.

The biggest differential in the league this year for penalties? The Minnesota Vikings, who have a net + 253 (!) in penalty yards this year. They’ve been called for 5 more penalties than us but their opponents have been called for a staggering 80 penalties, which is 7 more than second place. Granted they’ve played one more game than us but the difference in calls there is wild. (Ironically they could have even more considering I think Kareem Jackson got away with taking Dobbs head off last night)

In summation: we still get a rather frustrating whistle & the Vikings are mid, being propped up by the zebras.
