I know lots if us (myself included) have been critical of some beat writers, etc. for being overly positive about the current situation. Especially JLE who has absolutely been pretentious (always has been). But most of these writers and media members rely on Pistons content and fan interaction for their CAREER. These people put so much time and effort into the shittiest organization (over the last 15 years) just for the Pistons to shit themself 13 games into the “turn a corner” season. As fans we can choose to not watch, to take breaks, to give energy to other things. These people are FORCED to give time and energy to an organization thats gives them nothing back. AND their content suffers because no one wants to read about/watch anything related to this team. They are just trying to keep people engaged because their career depends on it. They are the true victims in all of this 😔

    Nah; absolutely positively not.

“They are victims of all of this”

LMAO. Dude, if they feel victimized they can quit their cushy job tomorrow. I know plenty of construction companies hiring, getting ready to put in a winter of hard labor out in the cold.

I can point to you a dozen examples of a beat writer doing the exact opposite of being a shill, and guess what? They all still work for the same company. You act like they will wake up to a pink slip if they have the nerve to lay out the negative truths.

The craziest part of all of this is that I’m not even on the doom and gloom train. That’s a completely different topic though because the mind boggling part of this thread is you’d feel bad for some best writers to being with.
