Autumn sale is coming up and I need some ideas. What is your favorite deck game of all time?
Really surprised how so many of the top results are big AAA games. The main reason I got the Deck was so Steam’s extensive indie library could be played anywhere. If I wanted to play a AAA game I’d do it on a console/TV, instead of a tiny screen.
Either Octopath Traveller 2 or Star Ocean 2’s remake would be my answer. I know they’re also AAA games, but they’re perfect as a pocket sized experience and run at a smooth 60fps all the time.
For emulation? MGS Peace Walker, Dissidia Duodecim and Crisis Core are all perfect handheld games that run stunningly well on the Steam Deck, amazing for pick up and go gameplay.

Binding of Isaac or Remnant: From The Ashes
Midnight Suns wrung a lot of hours out of me when I first got a Deck.
Cyberpunk 2077 and Resident Evil 2 Remake. Cyberpunk is just an awesome game and RE2 performs beautifully
Cyberpunk …works on SD???
So many good games it’s hard to pick just one. My recent favourite is the Star ocean second story R. The best remake done in 2023 for sure.
Noita
2016 Doom…Play it once a year just because I enjoy it so much lol
All of the DOOM games from 1993 to Eternal are masterpieces IMO, and all play at a locked 60 FPS on Deck. The retro titles are a blast and use very little battery.
Black Ops 4
Yakuza series. From 1 to 6 in 6 months.
Deep Rock Galactic. Rock and Stone!
D2r… Either through bnet when on the run or streaming from my PS5 when at home
