Vince Williams Jr. played 17 minutes against the Celtics, which in my opinion is one of the larger amounts I can remember in recent times. To my knowledge, I cant remember him playing this much at any point last year.
Vince Williams Jr. scored 6 points, on 50% shooting, but I felt like his defensive intensity was strong and that he spaced the floor well. I like his athleticism compared to Jake or even Roddy, and I feel like he has as much offensive upside as a Zaire.
There was one play in the fourth quarter where he was directly defending Jaylen and I felt like Vince totally clamped him.
I’ve always been confused why the team didnt do more with Vince or show more interest in his potential, because I think he is more likely to be a bench figure than Jake.
Low-key, his gangly long limbs and the way he carries himself reminds me a little bit of the lead Somali pirate in the “Captain Phillips” movie. Whenever he makes a play, I yell “I am the captain now!”
