Vince: “I am the captain now!”
Low-key, his gangly long limbs and the way he carries himself reminds me a little bit of the lead Somali pirate in the “Captain Phillips” movie. Whenever he makes a play, I yell “I am the captain now!”
I hereby coin him “Scrappy Doo”, because he’s tiny and scrappy as they come. GREAT show from him last night!
Hot take - I actually like the barcode jerseys more than the City Editions with the silver lettering
Dude - how hard did Luke get clocked?
The dude was the Big10 DPOY just before signing with the Grizzlies. The man knows a bit about defense and has a track record of putting in the effort to further improve his game.
2024 is our SENIOR YEAR!
I think we might be seeing a leap from X and I’m here for it!
I call him the Garbage Collector. Make a garbage shot? No problem. Brandon’s gonna clean that shit up for you, easy peasy.
I don’t remember Z’s fast breaks being so… fast!
“Taking the training wheels off” got us to the second round of the playoffs that season and I’m convinced we were likely going to the Finals if Adams hadn’t gotten Covid at the start of the Warriors series. If there was a tried-and-true guaranteed recipe to getting a chip, everyone would be doing it every season.
Hard agree. The old 3-6 Mafia “North Memphis, South Memphis, Westwood, Orange Mound” sample in that track is chef’s kiss
Lot of doomer takes lately. Let’s look at it this way: remember when we traded an objectively better center for Steven Adams? Most people didn’t really like it at first, but it changed our playing style and ultimately made us a much more powerful team. I think Kleiman was quoted saying that the move was to “take the training wheels off” (referring to our ability to rely on JV to score). This is an opportunity for us to look at this as another “take off the training wheels” exercise and tune our game to the players we have, especially with some new faces around and a guy like Tillman, who seems to be down to rise to any occasion and pleasantly surprise us. As much as I LOVE Adams, we rely on him too damn much. Give this squad a little time to work out the kinks before we start talking about tanking or resetting.
Better be one of OUR bench randos!
