Bad PC ports in games is not something new.
Especially in this day and age, where rushed development, lack of proper planning, overwork and greed, lead to poor PC ports (since the game is designed keeping consoles in mind)
However, are there any games which have had bad console ports as well?
7DTD, but it’s a long story. I think the Fun Pimps are working on fixing it.
Counterstrike on Xbox was awful. Halo games had 4-player couch co-op, but CS was network only?
Everything from the nes/SNES era.
Looking at you, kings quest.
7 days to die. The controls and gameplay were clearly made for PC.
Oh, there’s fuckin’ tons, man.
IIRC, the Atari 2600 port of Pac-Man was so bad it’s considered one of the factors directly responsible for the US game industry crash in the 80s.
Cyberpunk was
Hell yeah… but on this subject, games need to go back to developers focusing development on PC and not console. Those were days were game releases were much more cleaner
Daikatana
Yes i know the Game is… Not good, very not good, but the N64 Port took an already sh1t Game and somehow made It WORSE
Theres Also Doom and wolfenstein 3D on the Snes, apparently SNES was lacking power to run both games properly
And i dont know if this counts but apparently the reason Deus Ex invisible war took a downgrade in quality its because they had to adapt the pc Game too for a launch on the original Xbox
If you are playing Baldurs Gate 3 with a controller. You are playing it the inferior way.
factorio on switch
witcher 3 on switch
Morrowind.
Hunt Showdown
Yes.
Starcraft for the Nintendo 64.
Lol, literally every console port of a PC game in the 90s and 00 sucked (at least compared to the PC version).
Even today, I’d say there are games that you should just not be playing on a gamepad. On the other hand, the PC plays anything you can play on a console.
The sheer number of bad console ports is far in excess of the number of bad PC ports.
