If Faker had half his achievements, he would still have 2 Worlds, 1 MSI, 5 LCK titles, 1 other Worlds finals appearance, 1 semis appearance, 5 years of career longevity. Not to mention half his IEM trophy, RR, Asian Games gold medal, individual MVPs, etc. That’s more than enough to make him the biggest contender for the GOAT debate. I struggle to think of someone with that many titles, not Ruler, not Deft, not Beryl. Maybe Bengi/Bang/Wolf? It’s crazy to think Faker has double all of that, he’s so far ahead of the competition.
forget half, you can even make the argument that he is the greatest player post 2018 which is absolutely bonkers considering that it doesn’t even include his prime lol. 1 worlds, 1 finals, 2 semis, more LCK titles than anyone except Khan, 1 MSI finals appearence. Faker is so much greater than everyone else.
Something I see most people regularly forget is Faker’s impact on bringing in new League players, new League esports watchers/tournament ticket buyers, new League content creators, and new League pros is genuinely absurd. This man has single-handedly bolstered the number of people into League a giant amount.
On top of that, he literally evolved League to a higher and tougher level of play with all the different things he did that people learned from.
Yeah it’s kind of crazy, I made this spreadsheet that calculates a score from the players accolades and there is no way you don’t end up with Faker with twice as many points as anyone else.
