This being Vons second year, do I remember correctly that the Bills can get out of the contract with no cap hit after 2 seasons. I would love to keep AJ and Floyd if possible.

Nope, we can get out of it after three years, so we’re stuck with him for another season. Gotta hope he finds his legs in the next few weeks.

I want to see how he is without the brace before making decisions on Von. Apparently this week or next week he can take it off. It’s either one year from the injury or from surgery… either way the latest it would be is next week.

You remember incorrectly. They cannot get out of that contract with no cap hit.

    These are the breakdowns…

    Pre-June 1, 2024 cut: NEGATIVE $8.627M cap savings, $32.501M cap hit in 2024

    Post-June 1, 2024 cut: $6.79M cap savings in 2024, $17.084M cap hit in 2024 & $15.417M cap hit in 2025

    Pre-June 1, 2025 cut: $8.457M cap savings in 2025, $15.417M cap hit in 2025

    Post-June 1, 2025 cut: $17.5M cap savings in 2025, $6.374M cap hit in 2025 & $9.043M cap hit in 2026

I’m not posting the trade numbers because nobody is trading for that contract.

There are no such things as contracts without cap hits.

Although it gets complicated, as a general rule, any guaranteed money in the deal will hit your cap eventually. There are lots of ways to shift things around to dictate WHEN that is, but it will always hit.

Non-guaranteed money hits the cap in the year it’s paid. This is the money that ‘disappears’ if the player is released.

I’ve been watching Von closely this year. It seems to me that he’s not confident with his knee and therefore is playing quite poorly.

I hate saying that because I’m a long time big fan.

We’re going to need a center, and a wideout. I’d rather pay for that and let the defensive coach raise the level of play.

Honest question, why is he even playing if he’s not himself? Would have rather we waited and have him 100% than have him out there currently.

Trust. We gotta have some, and Vons gotta learn to trust the knee again.

I keep thinking about the counterfactual world where the Bills don’t sign Von Miller to the contract and get accused of not doing everything they can do to win a Super Bowl during the window.
