Get a comprehensive roadmap out for the game, hire devs that are passionate about the game, regularly communicate with the playerbase.

This game is so much better than league but you look over on that side of the fence and they’re eating so good and have been for the better part of a DECADE. They get constant updates, riot interacts with the community almost daily. There’s a cadence and general feel that the game is supported meanwhile dota feels like we’re begging for breadcrumbs.

The TI is great and all but it should be secondary to the keeping the game fresh.
