I’ve been watching since 2020 (my first giants game was the 3rd and 9 incident), and have been in love with Daniel Jones since day one. I will confess I am a DJ truther. But he gets injured and this absolute bum walks on, gets one good game against a notoriously horrible opponent where DJ has always done well, with better weapons then Jones ever had, and now he’s the guy? I can’t tell if it’s a shitpost for how badly the season has been and it’s coping, or if it’s a serious belief in Tommy DeVito starting as QB1. Someone please help me understand 🤲
I don’t think people actually believe in him. However, there is a lot of discourse over DJ and whether or not any QB can succeed with this supporting cast. For admitted DJ haters like myself, I do want to see him succeed just to give the DJ lovers less excuses. I know that Tommy is not the future QB of the team, but maybe if he plays just as well as DJ it’ll make the front office realize that it isn’t just the supporting cast that is the issue with DJ. Everything to me comes down to me not wanting to ever see Daniel jones start at QB for the giants ever again.

It’s not that deep bro. Devito is a very likeable guy, and a guy you want to root for. Hes Italian and very jersey Italian, which is a huge part of our fanbase. Like another guy said we’re having fun during a terrible season. Nobody thinks he’s better than DJ, nobody thinks he’s our QB of the future. He’s a Syracuse QB who obviously is not NFL caliber but just won against one of our division rivals and had a better game than anybody imagined.
He’s a kid who we root for because he’s likeable. But at the end of the day most of us see him as a “tank commander” more so than an actual starting QB
Add to it, he’s a guy who doesn’t belong in the NFL and is by all accounts a bum. But he threw for more TD passes in 1 than Jones has since his rookie year. Devito also single handed Lu destroys the Daniel Jones narrative that he is being held back. And Devito is a meme. So we just love the kid but we’d move on a heartbeat if we could.
He had the same weapons DJ had this year. He cost a fraction of the money. He has a pulse and a personality. When your pricey 911 gets passed by my tuned GTI…
