I’ve seen people discuss how changing the OC in the middle of a season is a lot more limiting than people realize.
Assuming that’s true, what can we realistically expect for the rest of the season?
For example, the media and opposing defenses have talked a lot this year about knowing exactly what plays were coming based on pre-snap stuff. Is there anything that can be done to fix this in the current season?
What kind of things can and can’t be done?
Based on Najee’s presser the other day, T just won the locker room back. A resurgence against Cincinnati ala the Raiders after dumping McDaniels
Maybe, just maybe, late in Q4 when a field goal is needed to go ahead, they will get the guy involved who has already ran for over 100 yards.
THIS situation is exactly why Canada should’ve been let go in the offseason. Everyone with eyeballs knew it didn’t work, but they kept him for “stability” for Pickett, and they didn’t want a second tear guy to have to relearn an offense…. Well, here we are.
Just imagine how much better of an idea we’d have about the structure of the team & things of that nature… if we’d have done the RIGHT thing & let Canada go last year.
Well, I’ve read that the OC duties are going to be split between two of the guys who worked under Canada, so it’s likely they have similar philosophies. Maybe we could get VERY lucky & they also thought Canada was an idiot, but kept quiet to keep their jobs. 🤞
However, there’s not really time for the players to learn a whole new offensive, so they’ll probably run a lot of the same, or similar) plays, but change the timing of when they’re called.
We might do this crazy new concept called “in-game adjustments.” I hear good things about it.
